One morning the Lord quickened this wonderful song to me:
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there's no other way To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Webster dictionary describes trust as the “Assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or trust of someone or something.” For us, our trust should be completely in the Lord! Trust focuses on the future outcome of a situation, and it activates our faith.
The Word tells us that King David made God angry because he took a census of his fighting men and was trusting in the number of his soldiers for his security instead of God. As a result, David endured discipline from God and had to present a burnt offering to stop the plague that was killing his soldiers (2 Samuel 24).
Hope in the Lord is ok, but TRUST is much stronger. Make a list of those things that that you need to trust the Lord for. Begin each day with a prayer to place those things in the hands of the Lord and trust in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Yours in Christ,
