"These Things"

Our lives are constantly filled with the unexpected. We have stood beside several dear friends this past month to hold them up in prayer and support them as they experienced the passing of loved ones, transitioning to Heaven. The unexpected losses are often the ones that bring the most sorrow and pain.  Even when there is an anticipation of loss, the actual passing is still painful.

Even so, the Lord calls us to “Seek the Kingdom first, and all these things shall be added unto us.” What are “these things?” I believe as we walk with the Lord, “these things” are exactly what we need in the moment we need them:

  • Overwhelming love from the Father

  • Peace that passes understanding

  • Grace to take care of matters at hand

  • Outpouring of love and support from family and friends

  • Unexpected financial gifts

  • Vision to find the road to our new path of life

Without a walk with the Lord, life’s unexpected events can become too overwhelming to handle. However, staying close to the Lord, walking with Him daily, and seeking His Kingdom first above our own desires, we have access to “these things” that bring us up and out of life’s darkest moments. I pray that you stay close to the Lord daily and allow Him to pour out to you “these things.”

Yours in Christ,
