Our Advantages

Just recently I read an article where an author said that, as Christians, we have an advantage over non-Christians. As I meditated on this concept, I realized how true that is, and that we do have many advantages:

  • We have the joy of knowing that we have eternal life and that no one can take that from us.

  • We have the Spirit of God living in us who guides, guards, and directs our life.

  • We have the wonderful gifts of the Spirit, like Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, Discerning of Spirits, etc.

For example, when I lose something, I will ask the Holy Spirit to help me find it. Then I’ll receive either a direct Word of Knowledge or help from Barbara or Tifphanie, who will receive a Word of Knowledge, as to where the lost item is hidden.

Another example is that if fear tries to come upon me, I immediately draw on 2 Timothy 1:7, which says, “For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.” John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you…. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”

As you enter 2020, remember all the advantages you have in the Lord! Draw on His Spirit as your helper, your wonderful counselor, and your Almighty God! Rejoice knowing you have access to every good and perfect gift from above. Blessings to everyone, and Happy New Year, New Decade, and New Era!

Yours in Christ,
