I stand in awe at the wonderful advancements that have occurred during the last century. In their younger years, my parents couldn’t imagine cell phones or trips to the moon. Life was usually confined to limited travel and a wired telephone that included a party line.

Amazing advancements have occurred also during my lifetime. The wonders of our food supply is a marvel to me. I can go to a Kroger and be amazed at the variety and quality of any food you can imagine. Many items are wrapped in individual packages.

What about our utilities? Many homes are heated with natural gas and cooled with electricity. Without the amazing innovations of computers and power grids, the whole world would grind to a stop. What about the amazing breakthroughs in the medical field? Lives are lived longer and healthier because of so many great discoveries. Also, my heart and prayers go out to our wounded servicemen and women. They are heroes who paid a great price for the freedom we are privileged to enjoy.

These are only a few of the things we can be thankful for. Let this Thanksgiving Day be a time to remember the many blessings we enjoy. Join me in thanking the Lord every day, not merely on Thanksgiving Day, for these blessings and for His wonderful love & provision.

Yours in Christ,
