Today, the Lord spoke an encouraging word to me. “Be of good cheer for I have overcome the world” (see John 16:33). I suddenly realized I was fretting too much over problems in the world instead of casting all my cares on the Lord. I realized that He loves me and is concerned about those things that concern me. A joy began to spring up in my heart as I remembered Psalm 37. God’s Word tells us over and over not to fret because of evildoers. He says:
“Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not envious toward wrongdoers,
For they will wither quickly like the grass,
And fade like the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good,
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight in the Lord,
And He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:1-4)
Instead of fretting, delight yourself in the Lord. Watch Him give you the desires of your heart!
Yours in Christ,
