A Joyful Vacation

We recently returned from an Alaskan cruise. It was wonderful!  Everyone in our group took advantage of the awesome food. In fact, we ate way too much! My love of ice cream was tempted beyond restraint. I ended up eating it every night!

One of my favorite times on the trip was the narrow-gauge train ride from Skagway to the Canadian border. I love old trains and ride them whenever there is an opportunity. The train ride along old historic sites was like going back in time.

One of the highlights of the cruise was our time with Barbara as she guided us in discovering our life purpose. Too many people do not understand the amazing way that God made them. They often find themselves attempting to function in ways that God did not intend for them. For example, my gift is that of an encourager.  I am not a theologian. Other people have gifts that the Apostle Paul listed in Romans 12. His admonition was that whatever your gift, exercise it with your whole heart.

A great thing about all this is that we are not limited to a single gift! In fact, a person usually has more than just one gift. God has empowered you with powerful gifts of His Holy Spirit. His desire is to use you as a blessing in the lives of people wherever you go.

What fun it was to share the insights about our giftings with each other! New friendships developed. Everyone felt they were enjoying the company of family! You may want to do something similar. Gather some friends at your house. Discuss the various giftings you see in each other. Your hearts will be knitted together in a stronger way as you discover the wonderful variety God has in His people!

Yours in Christ,
